Celebrate the 4th of July in Southern Oregon 🇺🇸

If you’re looking for an excuse to get outside this holiday weekend, Southern Oregon has no shortage of fun. From hometown parades and family festivals to fireworks, live music, and lake days, there’s something happening in nearly every community.

Even better? The forecast is looking like classic Southern Oregon summer—warm, sunny, and perfect for spending the day outdoors. Expect afternoon highs in the upper 80s to low 90s with plenty of sunshine, so don’t forget the sunscreen, water, and lawn chairs. (Grants Pass Tribune)

Central Point Freedom Festival

If you’ve never experienced the Central Point 4th of July Parade, this is the year to go! The festivities kick off with the Run 4 Freedom before the parade rolls through town at 9:30 a.m. Afterward, head over to Pfaff Park for live music, food vendors, kids’ activities, local artisans, and plenty of community fun. Finish the evening at BoomFest at the Expo for one of the biggest fireworks shows in Southern Oregon. (centralpointchamber.org)

A Personal Note ❤️

My family and I will be cheering along the parade route as my son and his Little League team march through the parade! They’re currently fundraising to make their trip to the State Tournament, and every donation helps these hardworking kids represent our community.

If you’d like to support them, you can donate here:

Every contribution—big or small—is greatly appreciated!

Other Fun Events Around Southern Oregon

If you’re exploring beyond Central Point, here are a few more great celebrations:

  • Ashland – 10K & Fun Run, historic parade, Lithia Park festivities, food vendors, and family activities.

  • Medford – Rogue X hosts its Red, White & Pool celebration with free swimming, games, music, and family fun.

  • Eagle Point – Community run, parade, street fair, and evening fireworks.

  • Grants Pass – Family activities throughout the day capped off with a spectacular fireworks display.

  • Lake of the Woods – Enjoy a lakeside BBQ, live music, and a laser light show instead of traditional fireworks. (Grants Pass Tribune)

Celebrate Safely

With warm temperatures and dry conditions, remember to:

  • Stay hydrated.

  • Wear sunscreen.

  • Arrive early for popular events.

  • Be patient with holiday traffic.

  • Follow local fireworks restrictions.

Happy Independence Day!

One of my favorite things about living in Southern Oregon is the incredible sense of community. Whether you’re watching your kids march in the parade, grabbing a snow cone at the festival, spending the afternoon on the lake, or ending the night under the fireworks, I hope you have a safe and memorable Fourth of July.

Happy Independence Day from my family to yours!
